If you've used Microsoft Word, you've probably noticed that after double-clicking on the app icon, you'll have to go through a few more steps, and after seeing a few patterns, tap Blank to see the blank pages.
While this may be helpful at first glance, it can sometimes be frustrating. Especially if you're one of those people who only uses Word software to write, and your choice is often the Blank pattern.
So it might not be a bad idea to find a way to bypass the extra steps and go straight to a blank page or Blank when we run Word. In this article, we are going to teach you ways that you can use it not only to run Word, but also to run PowerPoint and Excel directly to empty pages.
In this article, we will explain and teach you other methods that you can use to make it easier for you to work with Microsoft Word. So if you're one of those people who uses a lot of office software, especially Word, don't miss out.
Disable Startup Page in Microsoft Word
Run Microsoft Word first and then click Blank Document. Now click on File and then Options.
Now scroll down from the General section to reach the Start up Options section. Now disable the first and third options. Just like the image below:
The job is done. From now on, every time you run Word, you'll be faced with a blank page that you can easily start working with. Whenever you want to reset these settings, just repeat the above steps and re-enable the two disabled options.
Disable the start screen on Excel and PowerPoint
Fortunately, Microsoft has generally made the settings for all Office software similar. So you can easily deactivate the start screen in Excel and PowerPoint by going through the same steps as Word.
Ways to make it easier to work with Microsoft Office 2016
1. Crop images in different ways
With Word 2016, image croping doesn't just end with triangular and square shapes, you can crop images in a variety of ways. This feature is useful when you want to put photos in your files with a specific shape and appearance.
All you have to do is select the photo and click on the crop option. Select the 1: 1 aspect ratio. Now click on Crop and select a form from the library. Now you can specify the size of the cropped image.
2. Change the default storage path for files
Another interesting and useful method that you can use in Word is to change the default path of files. As you probably know, all Word files are stored in My Documents by default.
If you want to properly categorize your created files, we recommend that you specify a new and specific path for your files.
To change the default path in Word, go to Options and then select Save. Now enter the new path in the Default local file location section and then click OK.
From now on, when you want to save your file or file, the default path that you entered in this section will be displayed by default.
3. Do the calculations in Microsoft Word
Did you know that Microsoft Word has a useful calculator that can solve simple equations? Of course, this feature is disabled by default and is hidden in the depth of Word software settings.
When you enable this feature, you can click on the equations and get the answer. To enable this feature, just go to File> Options> Quick Access Toolbar and select All Commands from the list under Choose commands.
From the list that appears, select Calculator or click on Add.
Selecting the OK option will add the calculator to the toolbar. To test it, just write a simple equation. Select it (without selecting =) and tap the Calculate icon at the top of the page next to the other quick access icons. (Pictured below)
The result will be displayed in the status bar.
4. Change the default font
The default Word font is probably not the font you want. Especially if you want to type in Persian, the default Arial font will have no appeal. But with Microsoft Word, you can change the default font.
To apply these changes, just go to the Home tab and then press Ctrl + D.
Select the new font. Now click on Set as Default and also select the All documentsnts based on the Normal Template option in the window that will be displayed.
After doing this, after opening each new file, your selected font will be selected by default in the previous section.Source
